The Racing Rules of Sailing is published every four years by World Sailing, the international authority for the sport. These rules, amended by US “prescriptions,” govern sailboat racing in the United States and in the portions of international races that pass through U.S. waters.
Deep Creek Yacht Racing Association (DCYRA) has published instructions for racing on Deep Creek Lake. Overall the races on Deep Creek Lake are governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing. DCYRA's instructions explain the specific class rules for each fleet on the lake. In the event of any conflict with the RRS, these sailing instructions shall govern.
